So as someone who went to catholic school for 4 years I think I’m relatively qualified to debate the nature of Sebastian’s vows, specifically the difference between chastity and celibacy. Celibacy is giving up sex and such completely, and chastity can be the same thing but I was taught (and I assume it’s the same in Thedas given some obvious parallels between the Chantry and Christianity) that chastity is using sex as a way to serve god, maker, whatever. Chastity is like not letting yourself be controlled by sexual desires and using sex to bond with a partner or have children. So there is a possibility Sebastian does intend to remain completely celibate, if you want to write smut about him it doesn’t necessarily have to include him braking is vows. In my opinion Sebastian’s caution towards sex is more about him not wanting to become the man he was before and is afraid of the effects that kind of intimacy could have him.
tldr- Seb doesn’t need to leave the Chantry to bone so long as he only does it with a committed partner and he doesn’t let it control his life.
I can’t believe Cassandra had to pay Varric an extra 7 bucks for him to include Sebastian in his story.

I guess you don’t want to hear about the tragic death of his family and his struggle to let go of the quest for vengance so he can become a priest, while he’s also struggling to resist a forbidden attraction to our hero Hawke that he can never act on?
