Adrien knew he messed up his first attempt at a normal friendship with Marinette.
She disliked him, thinking that he was in league with Chloé’s horrible antics, but was later proven wrong by his sheer kindness.
As the year progresses, Adrien most likely assumes that Marinette’s stutter and inability to talk to him is because of his actions the first day of school, and how she might not have fully forgiven him for not ratting out Chloé.
So when the opportunity arises…
Adrien finds his second chance to impress Marinette.
Trying a little too hard, all Adrien wants is to gain Marinette’s approval of him; whether it be his civilian life…
here’s another tiny lil detail i love; adrien is very careful to make sure marinette doesn’t mind giving him an autograph because he already knows what a pain they are to sign!
he definitely wants one but he doesn’t demand it, asking only if it’s possible and not a bother. he doesn’t make marinette feel obligated in the slightest, and i can’t help thinking that’s how adrien wishes fans would treat him more often. surely chloé alone couldn’t make him hate signing autographs as a whole, i think generally being in close contact with fans is pretty stressful for him.
