Instead of fanon we should just embrace that characters will be reduced to a few qualities and try to control it. For example:

  • Red- instead of having him be oblivious to anything relationship-wise, give him minimal characteristic dialogue and use him as living eye candy because I heard that Red has an 8-pack. That Red is shredded. 
  •  Green- stop all that stonic and emo Green crap and turn him into an actual green bean! They can’t talk or think so no dialogue no problem!! 
  •  Blue- she is usually used a matchmaker which has little canon evidence so your best bet is to take advantage of her personality (shocking am I right) and use her as a roaring bisexual to attract The Gays™ 
  •  Yellow- shy and quiet? Constantly blushing over Red? This girl would punch Lance in the face! Just have her constantly asleep! And if lance shows up, she goes super-saiyan. 
  •  Gold- flirty? Under certain circumstances. Calling people by nicknames? All the time. He is now the Nickname Generator 2000 (not for use on pokemon, he gives those kinda sucky nicknames) 
  •  Silver- Emo ginger? Wrong. All anime characters with long red hair are secretly the same person so just look at a character analysis for Erza Scarlet or someone. 
  •  Crystal- she isn’t really as overly violent as she is in fanon because that would be a bad influence. Crystal is a GOD-TIER MOM 
  •  Ruby- maybe he is a girly boy but at least give him his appropriate daddy issues 
  •  Sapphire- DO NOT repeat DO NOT make her Ruby Fan Girl #1. She is Ruby Fang Girl #1 ok. 
  •  Emerald- croissant with a dirt gun. 
  •  Wally- wait do I have to do him? He’s still alive???? 
  •  Diamond- he’s actually good just food and bad puns, that’s about it. 
  •  Pearl- again he’s fine just a gotta go fast comedian with a paper fan for smacking some sense into you idiots. 
  •  Platinum- making it raiiiin miss money bags and definitely knows what people mean when they ask her about her relationship with Dia and Pearl and definitely just says “I like them both” as a total troll 
  • Black- HE IS A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER NO QUESTIONS ASKED 
  • White- boss lady who is always working and carries a roll of duct-tape to put over blacks mouth when he needs to use his inside voice 
  •  Bianca- She is precious. Save her. Don’t even include her in your dirty minds, just mention her to acknowledge her existence then leave her alone 
  • Cheren- in the game he’s kinda cocky and stuffy but that is NOT how he acts in pokespe. In pokespe he is the hot teacher with the childhood crush on Black.   
  • Rakutsu- *batman voice* RAAACHELL 
  • Faitsu- I have no idea their arc isn’t even close to over just though in some N-sempai or whatever 
  • Hugh- I repeat this arc is over. Please. Give. Me. More. (This boi needs his cat back) 
  • X- put and blanket over him. Pull it off. Look, he has magically disappeared!! The audience applauds.
  • Y- bird obviously all she needs to do is peck and tweet 
  • Shauna- another big change in the manga, she is no longer super perky, now she is just done. Like with all this crap. Give her a new puppy and it’s ok 
  • Trevor- smarty farty but shy shy shy. Though he does have screaming potential if Lysandre is there so yeah 
  •  Tierno- WhEn in DouBt DanCe OuT

What i find most troubling about the pokespe fandom is how it seems some fanon has become the complete opposite of canon and people are just like, ok?? with? that???? And how pretty much every fanon personality besides Yellow is never corrected? So I would like to show some example of things i have seen in many fanfics vs. what actually happens in the plot-

for example:

-EVERY SINGLE HIGH SCHOOL AU EVER: Lance lusts after Yellow and Red ends up protecting her.  

VS. CANON YELLOW ARC PLOT: Lance is a jerk to everyone and kidnaps Red, so Yellow actually pushes him into an active volcano.

-FANON: Crystal is a mega violent workaholic who constantly kicks Gold for being a perv.

VS. FACTS GIVEN TO US BY THE ACTUAL GSC/HGSS ARCS: Crystal totally could have set out to collect pokemon without a pokedex, but doesn’t because she was taking care of children at an orphanage and only leaves when the pokedex allows her to financially support said orphanage because she is the best mom/ in her flash back she defends the arcanine who BROKE HER ARMS from being beat up by the pokemon who saved her because arcanine was also hurt/ she really doesn’t have a one on one pokemon battle with anyone until she is forced to in HGSS/ she kicked Gold once and not even that hard?? She just shut him up because she was embarassed, like how?? do? you? think? she’s? violent????? what gave you that idea ever??? Also Gold really hasn’t done anything pervy since he touched Blue’s butt, so he’s just an annoying lil flirty turd to everyone

-WHY IS THIS IN EVERY SINGLE FANFICTION: Blue is the sneaky little matchmaker with a master plan to get all her friends into relationships with each other and drags Green along with her.

VS. CANON FRLG ARC: Blue is just… Super cool? She is pretty and cool and reeaally smart and wishes she could have lived a normal life but is also bit to proud to admit it to just anyone. Treats her friends like family, and just for some reason everyone just does what she says?? not like she blackmails them, they just do. you can look for yourself if you want, but almost every time Blue asks for something they just do it. And Green just has some of his own issues because he totally used to be a little brat and had some Grampa issues, but has mostly grown out of it and now just tries to keep his friends from getting themselfs killed.

-FANON: Silver has a big-sister complex and a crush on Blue and so therefore hates Green because apparently Blue likes Green instead of him?

CANON: Silver has 99 problems Blue has not caused a single one because she has only ever brought good positive vibes into his super messed up life.

Give me a character and I’ll tell you my headcanon for:

  • What they smell like: on a good day probably cookies and clementines (because his mom likes to keep fresh fruit in the house and he likes cookies)
  • How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): FReakin stAR fish everywhere with a some soft snoring and a lil drool. also he likes to browse the web and goes to sleep at like 3 am and wakes up at noon
  • What music they enjoy: boy bands
  • How much time they spend getting ready every morning: he literally just rolls out of bed,l like sometimes he doesn’t even change out of pjs
  • Their favorite thing to collect: he’s not really serious about any type of collecting but i he seems like the kind of rich dweeb who collects video games or something
  • Left or right-handed: he would be a really mad lefty who just curses every time he smudges something or has to use scissors 
  • Religion (if any): he thinks that if god was real it would have been in everyone’s best interest to kill him off a long time ago because there were more than enough chances (but if confronted about it he says he is basically a god)
  • Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc): HE LOVES ALL OF IT  like Gold is such a tourist everywhere but he likes trying food the best (and trying to flirt with foreign girls)
  • Favorite kind of weather: he likes it warm and sunny
  • A weird/obscure fear they have: he totally believed in the boogieman when he was little and to this day wont go into his closet if its dark out (even with all the lights on)
  • The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: we never quite know how of why but he is oddly skilled at the claw machine i mean he fails sometimes but to win a few time in a row is pretty impressive

Black totally convinced Cheren to call him bro when they were little. He tried to get Bianca in on it but she got super offended because “just because I have short hair doesn’t mean I look like a boy!1!!!!1″ Cheren bailed Black out of trouble with her and Black was proud of Cheren for being a good bro. White thinks it’s weird because Black never carried HER into battle like that (I got the idea from reading this)
